Santo has no formal subdivisions; homes and small businesses string along Farm Road 4 and the county roads radiating from the school. The community's center is the Santo ISD campus and the surrounding crossroads. Mineral Wells, about ten miles northeast, serves as the commercial hub, while the Possum Kingdom Lake communities and the county seat of Palo Pinto frame the area. The town of Gordon lies nearby along the former rail corridor.

Santo sits on Farm to Market Road 4, connecting to U.S. Highway 281 and State Highways 16 and 180 in the surrounding county. Mineral Wells is about ten miles northeast, and Interstate 20 runs through the region, placing the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex within roughly an hour's drive. Driving is essential, and regional air service is available through Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport. The town's rail heritage remains part of its story, though the line no longer shapes daily life.

Possum Kingdom Lake is the region's recreation centerpiece, offering clear, blue water for boating, fishing, swimming, and water sports, with Possum Kingdom State Park providing camping and hiking in the Brazos River canyon country. The surrounding Cross Timbers offer hunting and wildlife watching, and Lake Mineral Wells State Park, just north of Mineral Wells, adds rock climbing, trails, and paddling. The Brazos River and nearby ranchlands round out the outdoor options.
